Songs as movie posters -> one direction (requested by: Megan)

So Megan wanted a movie poster of liam and niall and I just had to create for everyone. It took me 2 days to get it done (since there are 2 versions) and I’m very happy with the outcome. Printing this out soon and probably giving it away.

One of the requests is done and I still need to do 5 more requests before I call it a night.

I’ve been editing photos since I woke up and Megan wanted a one direction movie poster (just like the ones that I made for The Maine) and I finally decided to get it started.
I have to get my The Maine movie posters printed out soon (and I’m thinking about giving copies away) so stay tuned for that.

a zine  is most commonly a small circulation publication of original or appropriated texts and images. More broadly, the term encompasses any self-published work of minority interest usually reproduced via photocopier. (via wikipedia)

Yesterday, I had this schedule planned out so I can actually get around the piled up ideas that are hanging on my corkboard but due to the weather yesterday, I felt poetic and not that much into artsy things.

Today it rained so I got around to inspiring myself more with arts, drawings, and anything in general.

I got around to finishing 2 drawings only *sighs* since I found this downloadable “zine” *squeals*

There are 5 volumes of this book so I placed 2 pages for people to see. I do not own these works.

The first volume was just a compilation of arts made by different artists and I completely fell in love with the fact that they mixed hand made arts and digital arts.

The second volume was about cats. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who loves cats so to find a zine completely dedicated to cats is amazing.

The third volume was about skate boarding. As a lot of you may not know, I actually skate board so this i was a definitely must download for me.

The fourth volume was so amazing. I fell in love with the first photo above, I’m a sucker for space drawings. The second photo is obviously about Harry Potter and it looked so adorable that I just had to put it.

The fifth volume was the first volume that I saw and it was about patterns this time and the only thought that was going through my head was cute. I love patterns and the many ways you could incorporate them anywhere.

I’m looking for more zines to download and to get inspired with so hopefully, I’ll be able to share it with everyone and help them be inspired.

What are some fonts you have downloaded? :-) asked by Anonymous

this is going to be one long ask, i think. I’m only going to put the fonts that I usually use.

Hope this helps! :)

Summer is about to end and school is just around the corner and it’s time for me to go back to my rainy day routine.

The rain usually helps me think of art ideas or takes away my art laziness so it was a really good way to start my day.

Rainy days are also equivalent to Ed Sheeran days for me thus the art. I’ve been more and more addicted to British artists and stuff so I’m warning all of you to expect a lot more British stuff from me.

Pure comfort food. Pastas are probably one of the most common foods here at my house so I wasn’t at all surprised that this was my lunch. *yey*

Editing and sweaters. (And oh hot coco) I got my glasses yesterday and yes these glasses have a grade and it’s Kenneth Cole *yells*

I’m currently making more art so I’m so slow in updating.

The last time I visited Book Sale, I got this book. I was very much intrigued by the synopsis given and at first, I actually thought it would be a teen angst drama book but the first few pages proved me wrong. The book is psychology challenged book and it was right down my lane since I am going to take BS Psychology for college.
It’s definitely a must read for everybody.

So I haven’t updated my personal blog for a few days now, not because of laziness or tiredness but because of this. I haven’t actually finished doing the minimalist posters for The Maine’s CSWS album and I’m already starting on a new project. I’ve been playing more and more with the Photoshop on the laptop and here’s the result of my incurable curiosity. There’s more editing going on so lack of sleep will be coming in and headaches too.

Day 2 of the tourist-y thing in Singapore and we ended up going to Sentosa & Universal Studios yey.

I seriously fell in love with this wall. The Sentosa mall had this huge white wall and the only colour or design that you can see was this art right smack in the middle.

I also fell in love with the fact that almost everything in Singapore was reachable with a simple ride on a train or a bus. Traffic doesn’t exist either.

I noticed that wherever we went there would always be a wedding shoot going on and the places that they had those shoots were A+.

And now on to Universal Studios!

I call this place, candyland. I actually haven’t eaten candy in a really long time and the fact that this store made me break that 2 year candy free record says a lot of things.

So the first thing that we watched when we got into the Universal Studios was the Shrek show and then go into the roller coaster ride in that area. It was the easiest roller coaster ride there so we were slowly but surely building up the level for the roller coaster ride.

We also watched Waterworld after that and I have to tell the truth, I did not know this movie but once I got to finishing the show, I knew that I had to add that on my movie list.

We ended up eating late lunch at Mel’s Diner and it literally looked like a diner and I just fell in love with the whole concept. A lot of things in the world right now are too futuristic that some people just forget how amazing the past decades were.

After the eating session, we ended up in the Jurassic Park area where we rode their very own Rio Grande Rapids and the mechanics for the dinosaurs to look realistic was very convincing to say the least.

The second roller coaster was in the Ancient Egypt side and we all considered it as the medium level; the roller coaster was indoors so they had a lot of effects to make it look scary and whatnot.

After that we ended up in the Sci Fi City and ended up riding the craziest roller coaster ride I have seen there. We actually had this mistake at first. Kuya Gerard had led my sister and I to the blue roller coaster which was the Cylon area and my food threatened to come out and I was just praying in my head to get it over with. After that experience, we were more than ever okay with trying the Human roller coaster and it was mild compared to the Cylon but it had a bigger dip in the beginning and it was enough for my sister and I to scream at the top of our lungs.

We were supposedly going to ride the new roller coaster on the Transformers area but we didn’t reach the cut off so we weren’t able to see if it tops of the Cylon coaster.

More shots were taken of the movie theme park place and we were soon off to the Songs Of The Sea performance and it was the most spectacular thing I have seen in my life. I suggest people go see it for themselves.

I look tired okay but I love the whole outfit.

9:25pm

So I’ve been away for a long time from the internet and from updating and I’m currently trying to make up for just about every lost update.

I ended up going to Singapore to visit my sister who’s staying there and no words on how much I missed her and how much fun I had being all tourist-y even if it made my feet ache.

I have a lot of photos taken during the first day so I’m trying to proof photo everything. More or less, I’m going to end up explaining what happened after photo bombing this post.

The first stop was the Nex mall to eat since it was the nearest mall from the hotel.

I was so surprised with their serving amount really. There was 6 of us and we couldn’t finish anything at all.

Chinese garden was next on our list of places to visit and it was a good place to take a photo of; the place would remind you of shots that you see on tumblr.

Turtles! Okay the first thing that ended into my head when I was uploading the shots here was something 1D related; British people are taking over my music preference.

We ended up going to Marina Bay Sands next and the first thing that caught my eye was that they had 2 stores filled with paintings and Ode To Art gave me a lot of ideas and inspirations on possible art on my doodle notebook.

And now on to the regular tourist-y thing, Merlion.

The things I would do to get a good shot. I noticed that I love sitting on roads oh well.

Page 3 of my doodle notebook.

I noticed I’m actually moving slow in filling this notebook up with art since last year, I ended up finishing more than half of my doodle notebook then. This idea has actually been lying around the house for 2 days now and I felt like if my notebook could talk, it would have already told me to finish it.

I had this initial idea that this art was going to be easy and boy, I was so wrong. At first I found it easy to paint the half globe on the paper but when I got to the surroundings especially to the ones near the sun, it just got messy.

At first, the colours completely blended with the sun and I had to darken it by mixing bright yellow and mustard yellow and I love how it came out.

I actually divided the page and marked what this part should be coloured as but I quickly realized how stupid it would look like if I show an exact line for the changing of colours right? So I just randomly started throwing in red, orange, mustard yellow, & bright yellow together.

And its done, I was baffled at the fact that the red parts blended in so well with the orange part that you can’t seem to notice the red part anymore. Even when I scanned it, it still wasn’t obvious.

I was debating on what lyrics to put since the painting could be related to The Maine’s Waiting For My Sun To Shine and Mayday Parade’s Jamie All Over but since I had this feeling that I was going to create more The Maine art soon, I decided to give it to Mayday.

You can view the scanned photo on my Flickr account.

8:02am

So as a lot of you may know, Cheska was giving away free ‘Bite Me’ postcards a while back and I was lucky enough to have snagged one which led me to this post since the postcard just arrived.

The postcard is A+. So go hit her up for projects here.
